Energy with-out Oil Weblog

The focus of this blog is to identify and help develop “ready made” individual solutions for the homeowner to become totally independent of fossil fuels.This can be done either directly through eliminating gasoline in our cars, heating oil, natural gas for heating and cooking or when used to supply the heat that generates the electricity for the electrical grid.

I am no handyman, so the solutions I am ultimately looking to find should be commercially available for assembly and use in the urban or suburban home. There is no kit or commercial enterprise that does that. Nothing like this exists as of yet, but part of my task is to identify and hopefully evaluate any alternative methods that show promise. The choice is wide, solar, wind, hydro even alcohol distillation can be considered. How we provide transporation to ourselves and children also is within the scope of the blog.

The aim is to give an individual the right to choose his energy delivery system. I want to provide insight into the ways large corporate structures ensure they are the ones dictating the way energy delivery is presently controlled and monopolized. Knowledge is power when trying to break free of these calculated distortions and pressure tactics. I want to provide the tools and insights to help everyone break free and re-assert our freedom of choice and ensure our liberties and individual say in a democracy is restored in the process. Time to wrest the power away from the huge conglomerates that are dictating the way we must live our lives for their benefit.

Energy with-out Oil encompasses a wide field. I do not intend to limit my discussions to a narrow viewpoint on any topic, I want to sponsor vigorous debate on how we can eliminate fossil fuels and dangerous environmental hazards from both ours and our children’s lives. I will try to allow every “on topic” comment - but all will be moderated to prevent flame wars and name calling whenever necessary.

The ultimate aim is to get me off the grid and free of Global Warming (not Climate Change) technologies as quickly as possible. But it must be done responsibly with as little impact or carbon footprint as possible. In the process, this blog is an electronic record of my thoughts and progress to help as many others as possible get unstuck from fossil fuel’s oily ooze and slimy suction in the process.
